Employability Week at the East Lancashire UC (ELUC) Accrington and Rossendale campus is an annual, inspiring event designed to connect our university-level students directly with industry experts, opening up a world of opportunity and showing exactly where our career-focused courses can take you.
Real-World Skills for Real-World Impact
When you study at ELUC, you gain much more than just a qualification. You gain direct access to business and industry connections that help you shape your future. During Employability Week, our students heard from a wide variety of experts on everything from setting up a private counselling practice to making a tangible difference in the community.
Students explored everything from YAB, or “Your Affordable Board” how to use the power of networking and bring small business together have the impact of the big names, even if you’re a sole trader.
Early Years students also heard from an expert in child exploitation and gangs about the signs to look out for to ensure they can be protected.
Charlotte Scheffmann, Dean of Higher Education at East Lancashire Learning Group, says:
